Tax Copilot
Brazil’s tax reform simulator for Simples Nacional companies.
Context
With Brazil’s tax reform, small companies under Simples Nacional face a new decision: stay, move to the hybrid regime or leave Simples. The answer depends on each company’s invoices, year by year.
Challenge
- Three different scenarios, from 2026 to 2033, with transition rules.
- The decision depends on the company’s real purchase and sales profile.
- Official parameters change and cannot be estimated.
Solution
The company uploads its invoices and gets the three scenarios compared year by year. Parameters come from the official tables published by the Federal Revenue Service, not estimates. A separate calculator answers how much IBS/CBS applies to one transaction, under any regime.
Architecture
- 01Pure calculation engine, tested before any screen
- 02Three-scenario comparison: Simples, hybrid Simples and Presumed Profit
- 03Parameters imported from the official Federal Revenue tables
- 04Diagnosis from an invoice file
- 05Chat for questions about the reform documents
Governance & security
- Nothing is persisted: invoices are read in memory and the result returns in the response
- Parameters traceable to the official source
Current state
- In evaluation
- Operating figures will be published once real data exists
